Refund policy

Refund & Returns Policy

Trade customers only

This Refund & Returns Policy applies to trade customers only and supplements the Terms & Conditions of Sale of Vale Mill (Rochdale) Limited.

If there is any inconsistency between this policy and the Terms & Conditions of Sale, the Terms & Conditions of Sale shall prevail.

Consumer rights do not apply.

Inspection on delivery

All goods must be inspected by the buyer on delivery, or on collection where applicable.

Any damage, defect or shortage that is reasonably apparent on inspection must be notified to Vale Mill (Rochdale) Limited in writing within three business days of delivery.

Where goods cannot be fully inspected at the point of delivery, delivery documentation should be marked “not examined”.

Failure to notify us within this timeframe may invalidate any claim.

Damaged or defective goods

If goods are confirmed to be defective or damaged in transit, and notification is made in accordance with this policy, Vale Mill (Rochdale) Limited may, at its discretion, replace the affected goods or refund or credit the price paid for the affected goods.

Once a replacement or refund has been provided, no further liability shall arise in respect of those goods.

Vale Mill (Rochdale) Limited shall not be liable for defects arising from fair wear and tear, misuse, neglect or alteration, failure to follow instructions, or incorrect storage or handling after delivery.

Shortages

Claims for shortages must be submitted in writing within three business days of delivery and must detail the alleged shortage.

Vale Mill (Rochdale) Limited reserves the right to inspect delivery records and the goods supplied before agreeing any adjustment.

Returns

Goods may not be returned without prior written authorisation from Vale Mill (Rochdale) Limited.

Unauthorised returns will not be accepted and may be returned to the buyer at the buyer’s cost.

Where a return is authorised, goods must be unused, unaltered and in their original packaging. The buyer may be responsible for return carriage costs unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Non-returnable goods

Unless expressly agreed in writing, returns are not accepted for goods ordered incorrectly by the buyer, surplus or excess stock, or goods that have been used, altered or damaged after delivery.

Refunds and credits

Where a refund or credit is agreed, it will relate only to the affected goods, will not include any consequential or indirect losses, and will be processed via the original payment method or by credit note, at the discretion of Vale Mill (Rochdale) Limited.

No consumer cancellation rights

All sales are business to business transactions. Statutory consumer cancellation rights, including cooling off periods or change of mind returns, do not apply.

Governing terms

This policy should be read in conjunction with the Terms & Conditions of Sale of Vale Mill (Rochdale) Limited, which govern all trade sales and set out the full legal position in relation to inspection, delivery, liability and payment.
